A self-confessed 'monster' who beat a Michelin-star chef to death near Notting Hill Carnival launched the attack after the victim made crude sexual remarks to a woman, a court has heard.
Omar Wilson, 31, repeatedly punched Mussie Imnetu, 41, and kicked him to the ground in Queensway last August, just hours before heading to the Ministry of Sound nightclub.
Mr Imnetu, a highly respected chef who had worked under Gordon Ramsay, Alain Ducasse, and Marcus Wareing, suffered a fatal brain bleed and died four days later.
Citat:
Jurors at the Old Bailey today heard from two women who were out with Wilson on the night of the alleged murder.
Zaibun Sultana had met Wilson a week before at a nightclub and the two arranged to attend the carnival together, the Old Bailey heard.
She said she was with Wilson, her friend Aisha Ali and another friend called Michael.
Ali, described how Mr Imnetu allegedly told her: 'I'd really like to f*** you' before she mocked him for having 'crusty lips'.
Under questioning from Wilson's defence lawyer Tyrone Smith KC, she confirmed that the chef then turned aggressive, calling her a 'f****** b****' and allegedly threatening to kill her while holding a bottle.
Citat:
Wilson was arrested in the early hours of August 28 and later told police he acted in self-defence because he believed Mr Imnetu posed a threat.
Prosecutor Jacob Hallam KC said Wilson claimed Mr Imnetu was holding a glass object and had taken off his hat, which he took as a sign of aggression, prompting him to headbutt the chef before the fatal attack.
The victim was taken to hospital but had suffered a massive brain injury and he died on August 30.
'Upon examination it was found that Mr Imnetu had suffered a massive bleed to the base of his brain, because an artery running from the head down into the neck had been torn,' said Mr Hallam.
Citat:
The damage was caused either by blows that were struck to the area where his neck met his head, or so as to cause his head to rotate with sufficient force to rupture the artery.'
Wilson, of Napier Road, Leytonstone, denies murder.
The trial continues.
