Reuters confirmed the death of its employee as a result of a Russian strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.

Ryan Evans, 38, was a British safety adviser for the Reuters news agency. Reuters had a six-person crew staying at the Hotel Sapphire as part of its team covering the war in Ukraine.

Two other Reuters journalists were injured and are in hospital. One of them was seriously injured.

Mr. Evans, a former British soldier, had been working with Reuters since 2022.
