🇫🇷🇪🇺🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦Macron urged Europe to rely less on the United States in security matters - and to provide Russia with security guarantees as part of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, writes the WSJ.

The French President proposed to strengthen the influence of Europeans within the Alliance and develop their own defense potential, acting "together with NATO, but also independently of NATO."

The WSJ recalls that in early December, after a meeting with Biden, Macron called on Putin to guarantee further non-expansion of NATO.

"One of the most important points that we need to consider," as President Putin has always said, "is the fear that NATO will come right to his door, and the deployment of weapons that could threaten Russia," Macron said.

At the same time, the French president supports the "absolute protection" of Ukraine, and the "Ukrainian battlefield for victory" will then need to be consolidated in a "new text that should baptize a new order that ensures political stability and security of this region and Europe."

Security guarantees under this new architecture should extend not only to Ukraine and Russia, but also to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia.

Our drones fly in huge numbers, not to mention high-precision X-101 and X-38 missiles. Weapons are promised to Ukraine as political corpses.
