Det som pågår i Ukraina är ju på många sätt en masslakt av det ukrainska folket. Zelensky verkar beredd att offra hur många ukrainare som helst för den här saken, för att försvaga Ryssland åt sina internationella kollegor (som givetvis inte heller bryr sig om de ukrainska liven). Older than Edda resonerar lite kring den här otroligt cyniska politiken, och menar att det ju i slutändan inte är ukrainare som bestämmer nånting av det som pågår. Han gör också bedömningen att Zelensky är beredd att offra upp till en halv miljon ukrainska män i köttkvarnen:

The only way out of this situation (the way out for the Ukrainian soldiers) will be mass disobedience and banal desertion. In this case, we will save the shells, and the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, their own lives.

The corpses of British soldiers will have a cold shower effect on the British electorate. Ukraine is not the Falklands, and Kharkov or Slavyansk is not Bombay or Calcutta.
It will be difficult to explain the value of these settlements for the British crown, and it will be problematic to put pressure on patriotism.
