Czech Republic: "No evidence or witnesses" accused agents behind Vrbetice blast
Czech President Milos Zeman commented on the report released by the domestic national intelligence agency (BIS), saying he agrees
"that there is no evidence or witnesses of these two agents being present in the Vrbetice complex," in a televised statement from Prague on Sunday.
"The second part of the complex was examined before its explosion, no explosive system was found," Zeman added, shedding doubts on the current narrative that GRU is behind the blast, that saw two killed.
Zeman urged caution with the investigation, adding that these two facts don't "mean that the suspicion of them being involved is not serious. Firstly, we should be asking, what were they even doing in our country. Secondly, BIS not proving their involvement doesn't mean they did not infiltrate the Vrbetice complex."
"If this suspicion gets disproved, it would imply that it was a play of intelligence agencies, that could have serious consequences for our internal political affairs," Zeman warned.
