HOW TRUMP WINS - INTELLIGENCE REPORT - 9th NOV 2020
The way Americans elect presidents is super odd.
Americans don't actually elect their president. They vote to decide which Electors (volunteers from each party) get to go to Washington on December 7 to elect the new president. Technically speaking this is when the real election for the new president takes place.
Depending on how the state votes - the winning party sends that number of Electors to Washington to cast a vote for their party.
The constitution does allow for these Electors to turn into Unfaithful Electors and cast a vote for the other party.
This sometimes happens by mistake or in protest against the winning candidate.
The reason this arcane process is in place is because back when the constitution was written (250 years ago) there needed to be safeguard in place in case the voters were duped into electing somebody who was a potential dictator or who had cheated in some way. Information travelled slowly in those days. As such - everyone from around the country could meet up in Washington and discuss amongst themselves to make sure the new president was a suitable person to be president.
Some states have banned this - but the majority still allow it. You may remember that people were campaigning to get people to switch their vote back in 2016 to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president. A couple even changed their vote as a result. But I am not sure if this was due to a mistake on their behalf.
Now - each state has to decide who won the election. This election has been decided by swing states that are run (on a local level) by Republican parties. As such - if there are serious allegations of fraud - they will not agree that the official vote tally is a fair outcome. This will result in gridlock such that BOTH parties will send Electors to Washington on December 7.
Luckily - the Constitution has a process in place to deal with this. What happens is there is a Contingent election:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contingent_election
Every state in the senate gets one vote each to elect the president. And every state in the House of Representatives gets one vote each to elect the vice-president.
It is a tight run thing. Donald Trump will certainly win the presidency. And Mike Pence will win the vice-presidency. But I think there is a chance that Kamala Harris might win the vice-presidency as well.
I am a bit unclear on this. I think the run-off in Georgia will play into this.
As such - the Speaker of the House (Nancy Pelosi) will be Acting President (I think this is for about 8 weeks) until this Contingent Election takes place in March 2021.
It is going to be pandemonium in the next few months. But - it is all there in the US Constitution.
If you want to win the game - you gotta' understand the rules.
The above is a summary of the same argument laid out by Brian Kennedy. He explains how all this will unfold at the 18mins 8secs mark of the Steve Bannon show.
