And FHM has realized this as they admitted today that a lot of people will never get the disease, in contradiction of earlier statements about everybody will get the disease anyway.
Yes, definitely. I believe levels of hospital collapse will also drive the IFR up somewhat, which explains the 1.29% in Lombardy and around the same in New York City. The first global stratified attempt at an IFR predicted just over 1%, and that’s what all the evidence is pointing towards.
The fact that the FHM’s policy was formed when they considered the IFR to be 0.025%, which has not changed in any major fashion since (despite their lethality estimates creeping up consistently) is outright incompetence. The fact it isn’t an incredible scandal is absolutely mind blowing to me.
