Policy
In
Italy, bars, restaurants, and hairdressers are allowed to open on May 18, earlier than planned before. The government is also reported to be planning to allow meetings between friends.
In
India, parts of the train network were opened, and the government has indicated more easing of lockdowns, despite continued fast spread.
Lebanon ordered a four-day lockdown after new cases picked up following easing of restrictions.
German public health authorities stated that the
reproduction rate has again fallen to 0.94, having increased to 1.07 reported on Monday. They do not expect a rising trend to repeat for the moment.
Iceland announced that tourists could again enter the country without quarantine form June 15, given that they pass a
coronavirus test at the airport.
In
Estonia, shopping malls opened on Monday. Gyms and pools will be opened next week and larger events with max 500 people inside/1000 people outside will be allowed in July.
The
Indian government is preparing another support package of 266 bn USD. Details have not yet been announced but it is expected to include a broad set of measures.
