Neighbour 'confronted the assassin'
By Inderdeep Bains for The Daily Mail
A resident who lives on a private estate opposite Flamur Beqiri's home said he caught a man 'posing as a litter picker' just days before the fatal shooting.
The resident reported the incident to the police, fearing the man was a burglar checking out the property, but now believes he may have been the killer planning the assassination.
The man, who wore a high visibility jacket and was even pretending to pick up rubbish, fled when he was confronted, the neighbour added.
He said: 'He was on the main road at first but I started to get suspicious when he came on to the private estate. He was pretending to pick up paper.
'As we don't employ a litter picker on the estate and the council workers don't cover the private roads I decided to challenge him. I asked him who he worked for and he wouldn't answer and left in a hurry.
'He looked Eastern European and I didn't see him again. I felt like he was scoping out the houses to target later on so I reported it to the police.'
Following the incident on Friday, the resident saw another man talking on a mobile phone for more than an hour on a corner close to the victim's home on Saturday.
'The man had a scarf over his mouth and a beanie on. Looking back, I'm convinced both men were scoping out the victim's home,' he said.
