For 15 years we've carried Bathory's music to the stage as Blood Fire Death — A Tribute to Bathory. At the end of 2024, a second act appeared under our name. We reached out in good faith. They declined to acknowledge the conflict.
So, calmly and for the record: our name is a registered EU trademark, in continuous use since 2010. This was never about stopping anyone from honouring Quorthon — only about protecting the name we've performed, recorded and stood behind for over a decade.
We remain ready to talk and do not wish to escalate things further (but will do, if deemed necessary). It remains clear to us, that there is only one band to legally use the name "Blood Fire Death" - and that's us. Swipe for the full story. The complete update to the press statement is linked in our bio.
Citat:
“Since a cover band from Bruchsal, Germany has trademarked “Blood Fire Death” — a title created by Bathory and known to generations of fans as part of the Bathory’s legacy — and begun blocking festival advertisements and social media posts featuring our band, we have temporarily removed the three words from our logo and presentation to protect our partners while the matter is being resolved. We trust that the irony of the situation will not be lost on Bathory fans.”
