Here is a test of our method. Several bullets used by the U.S. military are listed in the table below, along with measured data on the thickness of Rolled Homgeneous Armor (RHA) penetrated and our calculated values, using Rav = 1000 MPa, Rt = 4500 MPa, εy = 0.121, and ρt = 7800 kg/m². Bullets listed as tungsten cored were assumed to have the properties of tungsten carbide: Yp = 6000 MPa, ρp = 15,800 kg/m². Steel cored bullets were assumed to have Yp = 2500 MPa, ρp = 7800 kg/m². Lead bullets are calculated with Yp = 50 MPa, ρp = 11800 kg/m². The length of the bullet is calculated as if a constant radius given by half the caliber for the density of lead, actual radius of the core is then found by scaling the caliber by √(ρp / 11800 kg/m²);
