Det råder ingen tvekan om att den ukrainska befolkningen är djupt drabbad av krigets fasor. In the village of Loza, Igrynsky district of Udmurtia, a participant in the SMO, who had returned from the front, along with two acquaintances, brutally killed a dog named Sharik. According to local residents, the serviceman, known for his fondness for alcohol, was "celebrating" his birthday in this way.
The men were heavily intoxicated. Neighbors say that early in the morning, they heard barking, squealing, and drunken laughter. The dog suffered a long and agonizing death, trying to escape, but the men beat it with a sledgehammer and stabbed it with knives.
One of the perpetrators, according to local residents, was a former police officer who had previously shown cruelty. People say that he regularly shot at animals. Locals fear that such impunity and a sense of entitlement could lead to even more horrific crimes – against people.
A local animal rights organization filed a complaint with the police, demanding that a criminal case be opened under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – "Cruel treatment of animals." The dog's body has been sent for a forensic veterinary examination, the costs of which the organization has undertaken.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident where, after returning from the front, some servicemen commit acts of cruelty against animals. In June, in the Kemerovo region, a participant in the SMO, while intoxicated, brutally killed his own dog and filmed the incident.

According to the man, he wanted to receive services that he deserved and that are funded by support funds for military personnel and participants in the SMO. However, he claims that he was denied these services:
"I went there. Yes, I was a little nervous – my blood pressure was 190/110. They refused me."
Previously, we reported that Markov had not received any assistance from the local support unit for military personnel and their families for three and a half years, and that he had to obtain some of the benefits he was entitled to on his own, according to him.
