Jag ändrade rubriken.
Hur vanligt i Sverige?
Jag har aldrig blivit utsatt, men jag har sett folk som stått vid vägkanten vid en bil och försökt påkalla andra trafikanter att stanna för ”hjälp”.
Tydligen vanligt i USA.
Tydligen så vanligt att myndigheterna och försäkringsbolag lägger ut massor av info på webben.

Road scams include "crash for cash" incidents where fraudsters intentionally cause accidents for financial gain, and "toll scams" where you receive fake text messages about unpaid tolls. Other common scams involve fake roadside assistance, the "flat tire trick," "distraction steals," and false police pull-overs. To avoid these scams, stay alert, maintain a safe following distance, never admit liability, and be wary of unsolicited contact or suspicious text messages.
Common road scams
Crash for cash: Scammers cause collisions by performing sudden stops, disabling their brake lights, or working with other drivers. They might also use tactics like "clip for cash," where they falsely accuse you of hitting their vehicle.
Toll scams: You receive fake text messages claiming you owe unpaid tolls and will face fines if you don't pay immediately through a link. These texts often come from numbers different from the official agency.
Fake roadside help: Scammers may pose as good Samaritans, offering to help with car trouble for cash, but then demanding more money or stealing your belongings.
Flat tire trick: A scammer will wave you down, pretending to warn you that your tire is loose or flat. While you are distracted, an accomplice may steal from your car.
Distraction steal: Scammers work in pairs. One creates a distraction, such as causing a minor incident, while another attempts to steal from the car or its occupants.
Fake police pull-overs: Individuals may use flashing lights or fake uniforms to impersonate police officers and pull you over to steal from you.
