I fundamentally disagree with the conclusion of a 700 lb JDAM-guided missile being used.
JDAM is a guidance system not a missile type or warhead.
We can see the path of the unguided rockets fired from Gaza as they streak across the sky.
The mid-air detonation/disintegration does not appear to be due to:
1. A mid-air collision between two or more unguided rockets
2. Excessively close rockets caused by launching too frequently causing a rocket casing weakness resulting in an in-flight disintegration
We do not have multiple rocket debris to support point one.
There were two further possibilities for what could have happened:
1. A direct guided missile strike
2. A mid-air collision between a guided missile and an unguided rocket
We cannot see a guided missile path (the flame and heat from the missile rocket motor) or sound from an Israeli-fired American JDAM or other guided missile whilst the missile would have been claimed to have been in the air.
There is no such thing as a JDAM sound.
JDAM is the guidance system of various missiles.
There is a chance, the Israeli-fired missile sound would have been heard if it were not for the unguided rocket fire from Gaza; however, we do not see any trace of a guided missile prior to the mid-air detonation.
We do not have multiple rocket debris to support point two; this ends the idea of a second missile mid-air collision unless the Israeli warhead detonated in mid-air causing obliteration of the missile casing.
Given nothing evidenced so far can compete with the most logical outcome, I conclude the present data points to an unguided rocket fired from Gaza disintegrating near the hospital car park (the unguided rocket was in forward motion so cannot have been directly above).
The unguided rocket would have been carrying quite a bit of fuel on board. It will have split the fuel in the crash landing. It may have detonated when crashing igniting the spilt fuel and it could have landed or split ignited fuel onto or nearby fuel tanks for generators.
