TV presenter 'really embarrassed' after calling for Ukrainian children to be drowned
Earlier, we reported that a Russian TV presenter had said Ukrainian children who saw Russians as occupiers under the Soviet Union should have been "thrown straight into a river with a strong current".
Russia Today presenter Anton Krasovsky has now apologised after being suspended by the TV channel.
In a social media post, he said he was "really embarrassed".
"Well, it happens: you're on air, you get carried away. And you can't stop. I ask for the forgiveness of everyone who was stunned by this," he said.
Mr Krasovsky's remarks are being probed by Russia's Investigative Committee, which will produce a report.
His TV channel has also distanced itself from his remarks and said no one else there shared his views.
