Har av naturliga orsaker ingen erfarenhet av just ryska vagnar men i Sverige hade vi nog absolut suttit i fordonen om vi trodde att vi var säkra (vilket dessa boys verkar tro då ingen berättar om krigets omfattning för dom vad det verkar). Det var en stor del av mitt liv som värnpliktig iaf Stridsvagnarna håller hyffsad temp även dom på tomgång.

The BBC has temporarily suspended the work of its news journalists in Russia after parliamentarians passed a new law cracking down on foreign media outlets.

Tim Davie, the corporation’s director-general, said the legislation “appears to criminalise the process of independent journalism” in Russia.

The new law, passed on Friday, makes intentionally spreading “fake” or “false” news about the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine a criminal offence. President Valdimir Putin approved the new law on Friday evening, according to the Tass state news agency.

It came after the Kremlin accused the BBC of playing a “determined role in undermining the Russian stability and security”.

Davie said: “This legislation appears to criminalise the process of independent journalism. It leaves us no other option than to temporarily suspend the work of all BBC News journalists and their support staff within the Russian Federation while we assess the full implications of this unwelcome development.

The moves will mean ordinary Russians have even less access to information about the conflict in Ukraine from outside sources.
As we just reported, Russia's Vladimir Putin has just signed a decree that will punish people who spread "fake" news about the war with up to 15 years in prison.
The White House has said it is "deeply concerned" about Russia's efforts to choke off information to its citizens.
"This is part of their effort ... to cut off a range of information from their public," White House spokesperson Jen Psaki told reporters.
"We are deeply concerned about this and concerned about the threat on freedom of speech in the country."
