Citat:
A peasant, accused of some misdeed, is brought before the King who happens to be passionate about horses.
The King shouts, "I will cut off your head".
The peasant pleads, "Please, Oh mighty King, spare me".
"Why would I spare you?"
"Give me one year. In that year I will teach your favourite horse to sing".
The king shrugs, "What have I to lose? If in a year's time, you have not taught my favourite horse to sing, then I will cut off your head".
As the peasant leaves the king's presence, walking backwards, a friend who has overheard the conversation remonstrates, "Are you crazy? You will never teach the king's horse to sing".
"You never know. I have twelve months. During that time the king might die. I might die. The horse might die. Or I might just teach the horse to sing".
