någon som vill ta en titt och rätta?

1
A lennie.
Dear Lennie, I understand why you get so anxious when it comes to spelling. I had a friend in
Junior high who suffered with reading and writing difficulties. He once told me the secret to
Overcome it, or a part of it; is to embrace it! Not be ashamed of it. This sounds easy right? It isn’t!
The second thing is that you can develop your spelling with studying grammar. I don’t think you
will overcome it entirely but you are going to feel more self-confident about writing in general.

2. Dear Mrs Markham, you have a student in your class named Lennie. You should have realized
along time ago that Lennie has dyslexia. He needs special attention when it comes to writing and
reading. My suggestion is that you contact the principal of your school, so he can move lennie to
what we in Sweden calls “OBS class”. There he will get all the help he need and his confidence will
rise!

The text that gave me the most interesting view on how communication can be delivered and
received was the text about Lennie, the boy with dyslexia. He didn’t said it with words but his whole
body told there was something wrong. It is a classic example on how observing the behaviour can
be more important than just listening to what people have to say.
The story about the cabbages in the supermarket and butterflies in the garden were a quite boring
story and the grandfather came with a lame punch line at the end.
On second thoughts, I think the text gave me a reflection about others people right to an opinion no
matter how wrong they are. Like butterflies, they can be beautiful to some, but a dread to others.
But if the teacher knew about the granddaughter`s grandparents issue with butterflies in the garden,
eating their cabbages. I think she would have understood and expressed her opinion in another way.
So it was a lack of information and the teacher came with the conclusion that killing butterflies are
Wrong. If she knew all the facts; she might have come to another opinion, escpecially if it was her
own garden.
So how we have lived our lives and in what environment we have grown up in affects our opinions,
and also how much information we have on our feet before we judge other people`s behavior.

Self –assesment.
My aim for this English course is to get mvg. I want to speak English as good as I speak Swedish. My
problem with speaking English is that I become insecure if I talk with a person who is much better
than I am. I dissect the sentence in my head before I say It, because I don’t want to say something
that is grammatically wrong. And it can be quite hard to find the one word you want to say and
know but you can´t find it in your head in an instant, that is quite annoying.

UNIT 1.
I already knew how to use a dictionary.

4. I need to increase my vocabulary . I am quite good to know what words means if they are put in a
Sentence , otherwise I know what they mean but I can´t find the translation in my head for the word
to Swedish. I understand English when reading or listening, but when it comes to speaking
it becomes more difficult because I can´t find the words I want to say. Or the word turns up 10
seconds too late in my head.
I want and I am going to start to speak English with my friends and practice grammar at home.

5. It depends on what English it is. If it is business English I won´t understand much. But if it is regular
English like in “progress gold” I approximately understand 95 percent of the words. I listen with the
text because I want to know the spelling for the words I don’t understand. One thing to improve my
comprehension is to watch movies without subtitles, if a word appear that I don’t understand I
pause and look it up.

6. I used to visit music forums in English. Sometimes, but not often, I buy muscular magazines like
“fitness magazine”. I like to watch youtube.com too, It´s a great site for watching short movies and
At the same time I hopefully improve my English.

7. I don’t understand this question. I have not done any work on this topic, should I? I can´t find the
task in “study guide” where it says I´m going to do a work about English in my everyday life.
