Citat:
Cenk Uygur, host and creator of the liberal online news show “The Young Turks,” has apologized for a series of old blog and social media posts about women that he called “insensitive and ignorant.”

The now-deleted posts from the early 2004, unearthed by The Wrap, were written when Mr. Uygur still considered himself to be politically conservative, he told the outlet.

An entry from 2000 complaining about his lack of sex declared that “the genes of women are flawed” because they “do not want to have sex nearly as often as needed for the human race to get along peaceably and fruitfully.”

Another entry titled, “Rules of Dating,” said he would break up with a woman if he hadn’t felt her “tits” by the fourth date, and that “there must be orgasm by the fifth date.”

A post from 2004 described a road trip with Mr. Uygur and David Koller, now senior vice president of operations at “The Young Turks,” in which Mr. Koller reportedly wrote that he chatted up three “whores in training.”

“In one small Pennsylvania town we stopped for gas, and while Cenk filled up I went to talk to these three girls who were walking down the road nearby,” he wrote at the time. “Turns out they were three teenage girls, whores in training, literally looking for boys to pick them up.”

Mr. Koller declined to comment on the matter to The Wrap, telling the outlet in a phone conversation, “I don’t want to talk about any of that stuff.”

Mr. Uygur, who was recently named in Mediaite’s list of “Most Influential in Media 2017,” which described the 47-year-old host as “an icon among progressives in America,” told The Wrap that he was “a different guy” when he wrote the posts.

“The stuff I wrote back then was really insensitive and ignorant,” Mr. Uygur said. “If you read that today, what I wrote 18 years ago, and you’re offended by it, you’re 100 percent right. And anyone who is subjected to that material, I apologize to. And I deeply regret having written that stuff when I was a different guy.”

“If someone said that today, I would heavily criticize them on the show and rightfully so, and I have. I’ve criticized myself over the years,” he added. “I had not yet matured and I was still a conservative who thought that stuff was politically incorrect and edgy. When you read it now, it looks really, honestly, ugly. And it’s very uncomfortable to read.”
