Jag frågade Norsk Toll denna fråga:
Hello,
I live in Sweden and am going to work for seven months for a company in Oslo.
I have a Swedish registered car. Can I use my car in Norway during my seven months of work?
Best regards,
M.

At present time, the general regulations are as follows:
If your stay in Norway will not exceed two years from date of entry and this can clearly be documented by a labour contract with a date of commence and a date of termination, you may use your foreign registered vehicle here during this period.
If the stay will not exceed one year from date of entry, you do not have to contact Customs, but you should keep a copy of labour contract or other documentation in the vehicle.
If your stay will be between one year and two years, you will have to apply for a driving permit from your local Customs office for the second year. We advise you to apply in good time before the end of the first year. The application form, RD-0036, can be downloaded from here:

If you can not document a temporary stay of maximum two years, ordinary import duties and taxes will apply and the motor vehicle has to be registered on Norwegian plates.
Kind regards
