Rome's Colosseum has become the latest battleground for a clash between farmers and the government.
Italian farmers had planned the rally to protest against EU climate change policies which they believe will affect their livelihoods.
A convoy of tractors, escorted by police, staged a protest by the historic landmark.
The farmers demanded action from authorities on low produce prices and rising costs.
Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni responded by saying the government will partially reintroduce a tax break for farmers.

Farmers stage Dover protest against the importation of cheap meat from around the world - Dayli Record (2024-02-10)

Traffic in and out of the Kent coastal town was disrupted on Friday by the demonstration, which has involved tractors driving in small groups, causing delays.
Farmer Jeffrey Gibson, from Wingham, Kent, posted on Facebook that the protest was against cheap imports as well as the Government’s sustainable farming incentive (SFI) scheme.
He said: “Time has come enough is enough why are we as British farmers producing food to the highest standards in the world, only for the government to do trade deals with countries producing far cheaper food with little or no standards.
“As for the supermarkets selling British produce cheaper than the cost of production shame on you.

Europe farmers continue EU protests | BBC News (2024-02-09)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSYZm32PqtQ
Thousands of farmers across Europe have ramped up protests against EU measures and rising prices, with roads blocked in Poland, Hungary, Spain, and Belgium.
In western Poland some 1,400 tractors took part in a protest in Poznan and roads were blocked across the country, while in Spain, farmers cut off traffic hoping to enter cities including Toledo and Zaragoza for the fourth day in a row.
Many of the farmers bore banners saying no to the EU's Green Deal, aimed at bringing down greenhouse gas emissions.
Farmers in Poland and Hungary are also complaining that the European Union is not doing enough to halt cheap imports from Ukraine undercutting local produce. They want the EU to restore a requirement on Ukrainian truckers to obtain a permit to work across the 27 member states.

It'll All Come Out in the Wash (2024-02-09)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKGt7IHzC5k
The World Economic Forum seeks control over the most mundane aspects of our lives, even how often you wash your jeans. While the temptation is to laugh at the hubris of these people, there is a genuinely evil agenda in place that theatre around frequency of washing is designed to distract us from.
Today I spoke about the interference of the globalist billionaires in our food production. This is disturbing. The campaign against farming is really a campaign against one of the mainstays of life. It is a campaign about control through a false scarcity of food.
The UN and the WEF seek control not only over food production, but energy and ultimately, global finance. It's time the Australian parliament stands up for farmers and the rural communities. After all, no farmers no food. Only bugs and lab-grown 'meat'.
