En vanlig tolkning har varit att det gäller kyrkan och Bibeln, som de två vittnena om Jesus, men denna tolkning stämmer inte in speciellt bra på Bibelns beskrivning av de två vittnena. Varför skulle Gud t.ex kalla upp Bibeln till himlen, och hur kan den spotta eld ur sin mun?
Den sannolikaste förklaringen är att det handlar om två personer och de två personer som idag lever och som passar bäst in på Bibelns beskrivning av de två vittnena är som jag bedömmer det Alex Jones och David Icke. Både David Icke och Alex Jones har gjort sitt bästa under många år att belysa fiendens(satans) rörelsemönster, och har blivit angripna och smutskastade hårt av satans medier(gammelmedia). Så hårt att de lyckats få de flesta att tro på att dessa är "konspirationsteoretiker" istället för de sanningssägare de är, trots att de båda säkerligen haft fel ibland de med, de är ju bara människor som gör sitt bästa trots allt.
Dessutom verkar de tillhöra de enda två församlingar som Jesus inte kritiserar(Smyrna = den bittra men starka David Icke och Philadelphia = Alex Jones(Som älskar sina bröder, amerikanerna))
För den som inte är insatt i Bibeln och hur saker ibland ska tolkas metaforiskt eller med hjälp av andra verser i andra kapitel som "pusselbitar", kan det vara svårt att förstå, men för den som är hyffsat intelligent kan det ändå gå rätt bra... tänk t.ex på att någon som är död vars lik man inte vill begrava kan tolkas som att det handlar om en video eller flera som denna person har gjort som kommer leva vidare, och då kan en gåva(som beskrivs nedan) vara en länk till en sådan video t.ex. Inte för att dessa vittnen är döda än, långtifrån. Kanske kommer de aldrig att dö?
