Avengers-adjacent superheroes Bucky Barnes (AKA The Winter Soldier) and Sam “Falcon” Wilson are to lead their own Disney+ TV show in 2020.

The six-part series is being written by Malcom Spellman (Empire), with Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale) set to direct – and it’s expected to follow on from the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie will, of course, reprise their roles as the titular superheroes.

It has also been confirmed that Captain America: Civil War star Daniel Bruhl will return to the MCU as Zemo – the criminal mastermind who drove a wedge between Captain America and Iron Man –and that he’ll finally be sporting the character’s iconic purple mask from the comics.

As revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2019, the six-part series is set to be released in autumn 2020.

August will see the debut of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Marvel's first Disney+ series, which will be followed in December by WandaVision, which stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision, respectively.

Iger did not reveal exact premiere dates during the earnings call, but these were more specific time windows than previously had been known. The revelation came two days after Disney unveiled the first footage from its upcoming Marvel shows, including Tom Hiddleston's Loki, during the Super Bowl.

Falcon & the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan and picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Empire's Malcolm Spellman serves as head writer and The Walking Dead's Kari Skogland directs.

WandaVision, described as taking inspiration from 1950s sitcoms, finds Scarlet Witch and Vision living their ideal suburban lives, but they begin to suspect not everything is as it seems. Matt Shakman (Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) directs, and Jac Schaeffer (The Hustle) is head writer. In the past, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has noted that WandaVision will lead into the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which opens May 7, 2021. Iger emphasized Tuesday these Marvel shows will interweave with the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Känner mig inte allt för hype för denna. Men man får väll ge det en chans.

Jag verkar vara den enda som är förväntansfull på serien. Tycker trailern ser lovande ut. Är lite rädd att det bara blir actionfylld fight efter actionfylld fight men hoppas de har balans i det. Anthony Mackie och Sebastian Stan kompletterar varann bra och har en bra kemi och det ser ut som om de tagit tillvara på det i serien, eller så är deras intervjuer genom åren en del av hela MCU planen

Japp kollat precis. Första avsnittet var väl ok. Inte så mkt mer. Men tänker fortsätta titta. Kanske det växer som med Wanda Vision.

Bra första avsnitt, ingen wow men kommer definitivt titta vidare.
Jag hoppas inte den nya Captain America är Jack Gleason from GOT. Såg ut det på smilet.
