I stumbled over the recipe of the finnish alocohole beverage Kilju, which is made of water, sugar and yeast:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilju

You can have up to 17% alcohole. So today I bought 2kg sugar and some dry yeast from Coop. I have mixed it all with 10 l warm water and now it's fermenting as hell! Should be ready to drink in 5 days, and then I can get drunk and hooray!

Anybody here who have tested this? Why have I never heard of this before? Everybody talks about making wine, beer and cider but the point usually is to get drunk, and you only need sugar, yeast and water! Thanks, finns, for discovering this!

The name translates to "scream", witch is a somewhat accurate description of the taste.

Ok, but hey, you can get drunk, right? And that being the point here, ain't it a wonderful recipe? Have you done it on your own? Or tasted it somewhere?

Kilju is considered to be a low-quality beverage that is consumed mainly for the sake of its alcohol content. The problem is that its almost impossible to avoid the taste of yeast. That means that you can only drink so much of it. After a while you´ll puke after one sip.

Here in Sweden we have both systembolaget aswell as bars and pubs where you can get drunk and hooray!

Kilju will kill you.

Yes. It's horrible. And I am not particularly picky when it comes to alcohol.
Popular among punks, witch means there is a phletora of songs on the subject:

Some rockers also like it:

Why not make wine instead? Same strength, but much tastier.
Or distill the kilju into vodka?
