"24 Legacy" - Utan Jack Bauer (FOX)

Fox has found its new 24 star.

The reboot of the iconic action series has cast Straight Outta Compton breakout Corey Hawkins in the leading role.

Taking over for previous series star Kiefer Sutherland, Haskins will play an entirely new character named Eric Carter in 24: Legacy. “Strong and smart, Eric came from a very rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers,” reads the official description. “Now back home in Virginia with his wife Nicole, he’s pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him.” Carter will join forces with the Counter Terrorist Unit to try and prevent an attack on American soil.

None of the original 24 cast is expected to appear in the new version, which Fox ordered to pilot earlier this month. Unlike the first version of the series, where Jack Bauer (Sutherland) was basically a lone wolf protagonist for nine seasons, the new 24 also has strong features a female co-lead role (not yet cast). If given a series order, 24: Legacy will also play looser with the original show’s distinctive “real time” format, with a 12-episode order instead of 24 episodes.

Låter värdelös. Tänker jag inte följa.

Låter onekligen som riktigt trött mjölkande. 24 var ett antal säsonger längre än den borde varit, och att göra ytterligare en serie är att ta i så man spricker. Att dessutom frångå det ikoniska realtidsformatet gör inte saken mindre bedrövlig.

Fan vet om det inte är en ännu mer vettlös och uppenbart pengakåt "revival" än den av Prison Break.

Bästa konceptet!

Synd att majoriteten blir skit, men vad ska man göra. Hoppas det blir bra men kan ju lika gärna bli en Blindspot eller Quantico känns det som..

Har väldigt svårt att se Corey Hawkins i huvudrollen i en sån här serie.
Har bara sett honom i Compton filmen och TWD men tycker inte han passar, han ser alldeles för snäll ut om jag får säga det själv.

The network has greenlit the “24” spinoff with a 12-episode order.

Corey Hawkins will topline the rebooted “24” in a completely new role, as the series is without Kiefer Sutherland — and Jack Bauer — this time around. However, Sutherland will serve as an exec producer on “Legacy,” marking his first time being listed as an EP on “24,” There are no plans for him to reprise his role as Jack Bauer at this time.

nsiders say both projects have been shoo-ins for Fox’s 2016-17 slate, as the network has been hopeful for series orders for both “24” since before the pilot even shot. After the pilots came through, execs decided to hand out early pickups before the typical announcement in mid-May ahead of Upfront presentations in NYC. The pair of shows are the first new original full series orders for Fox, other than the animated hybrid comedy “Son of Zorn,” which is also slated for 2016-17.
