ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create specifications and design documentation for battery systems as determined through customer feedback and interaction.
* Design battery electronics systems based on given charging and discharging specifications and system requirements in accordance with customer requirements.
* Perform modeling such as spice-based circuit simulation. Create schematic and PWB layouts. Define and create embedded software for boards when required.
* Breadboard and test developmental circuits; create prototype boards.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, Masters of Science preferred. A minimum of 8 years of experience in analog/digital design, power electronics, circuit simulation and circuit CAD layout also required. Experience in software design and implementation for embedded systems is highly desirable. Must be able to lead and mentor junior engineers, suppliers and consultants when required. Flexibility in meeting project datelines along with familiarity with applicable military, commercial and automotive standards expected.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Project leadership and teamwork qualities and maintain a teamwork environment through effective verbal and written communications. Must be able to present information to groups of all sizes.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Minimum required for degree in Electrical Engineering.
REASONING ABILITY
Advanced reasoning ability in line with education and experience expected.

While performing the duties of this job, the person will occasionally work near hazardous and/or toxic chemicals, energized electronic equipment and circuit boards and operate office machines in both laboratory and office environments. Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. to work bench height and work with small electronic assemblies.
