SSRI under graviditet ger missbildningar på hjärnan

En nyligen publicerad studie pekar mot att gravida kvinnor behandlade med SSRI löper mycket större risk att föda barn med Chiari I Malformation, en defekt på lillhjärnan.

Studien var upplagd som följer:
"33 children whose mothers received a diagnosis of depression and took SSRIs during pregnancy (SSRI exposed cohort) were matched to 66 children with no history of maternal depression and no SSRI exposure. In addition, 30 children whose mothers received a diagnosis of depression, but did not receive antidepressants during pregnancy (history of maternal depression cohort) were matched to 60 children with no history of maternal depression and no SSRI exposure."

Resultatet:
"SSRI exposed children were significantly more likely to be classified as CIM than comparison children with no history of maternal depression and no SSRI exposure (18% versus 2%, p=0.003, OR estimate 10.32, 95% Wald Confidence Limits 2.04-102.46). Duration of SSRI exposure, SSRI exposure at conception, and family history of depression increased risk. The history of maternal depression cohort did not differ from comparison children with no history of maternal depression and no SSRI exposure in occurrence of CIM (7% versus 5%, p=0.75, OR estimate 1.44, 95% Wald Confidence Limits 0.23-7.85)."

SSRI och graviditet har även satts i samband med andra sjukdomar och tillstånd t.ex. har man sett att kvinnor på SSRI löper högre risk att få barn med autism. T.ex.

Vad anser ni om detta? Är det inte allvarlig data? Bör läkare avråda gravida kvinnor från att använda SSRI? Hur ser rekommendationerna ut idag? Tror ni att det finns ytterligare sjukdomar/tillstånd som kan kopplas till SSRI och ökad förekomst?

Vad jag har hort sa avrader man redan fast det finns val undantag saklart.

Okej, hittar inga direkt klara direktiv på vad som gäller eller inte, om läkare informerar om de eventuella riskerna, om de ens är medvetna om dem. Kan ju vara önskvärt att få veta att preparatet du tar kan öka sannolikheten för att ditt barn ska födas med en defekt på hjärnan eller autism.
Sen är det inte 100 % säkerställt med mycket pekar mot dessa samband.
