he best looking computer-speaker system on the market — an irresistible design statement featuring pinpoint-positioning speaker stands."
Steve Morgenstern, Rolling Stone, March 2003

"Most computer speakers are simple to hide, easily blending into their surroundings. The new ProMedia, however are loud in more ways than one. These space-aged, kidney-shaped speakers can turn the dullest room into a modern-day showcase."
Louis Ramirez, PC Upgrade, April 2003

"Klipsch's GMX D-5.1 speaker system is intended for use with game consoles and PCs, and it means business: The system has a built-in, 100-watt FTC-rated amplifier, and the UFO-shaped control module has Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II decoders for movie theater-style surround sound."
E-Gear, April 2003

"One of the more intriguing examples of the move away from severe, vinyl-clad boxes is Klipsch's six-piece GMX D-5.1 multimedia speaker system. The success of the company's THX-certified multimedia speakers show that there's a market for good sound in the computer world, and Klipsch is hoping to show with these new models that even gamers, hackers, and geeks want speakers with a sense of style."
Michael Gaughn, Sound & Vision, April 2003

"With the out-of-this-world aesthetics of the GMX D-5.1s, it's easy to overlook this speaker set's other strengths. But, once you've connected this sweet setup to your multimedia PC or game console, you won't believe your ears—or eyes."
Mark Spoonauer, TECH Edge, April 2003

"We all know that hooking your speakers up to your system is part of the "fun." But what really matters is how they sound, and this is where Klipsch speakers continue to shine. The GMX D-5.1s ship with 100-watt amplifier that gets plenty loud, and the satellites (typical of Klipsch) offer up a good combination of mids and highs."
William O'Neal, Computer Gaming World, May 2003

"These speakers take Klipsch into uncharted territory. Rather than making small tweaks to the existing ProMedia systems, Klipsch started from scratch and went berserk. The result is an incredibly stylized, dramatic looking rig that will get people's attention before they're even plugged in."
M. Wiley, IGN.com, February 2003

"Klipsch brings one helluva brand name punch to the table in the world of home audio, and they certainly didn't disappoint us at the show [CES - 2003 from Las Vegas]. They were featuring a new ProMedia GMX D-5.1 performance line of multimedia speakers. With a fresh design and crisp sound, the performance of these speakers really were surprising, despite our high expectations."
Sean Gibson, NextGen Electronics, March 2003

"Most console gamers would love to hear digital surround sound from their games. The problem is they can't afford it. Just buying a receiver that supports Dolby Digital sound would cost hundreds of dollars. Klipsch, world renowned computer speakers maker, has set their sights on this group with the ProMedia GMX D-5.1 system."
Jack Ngai, EdgeReview

"Gorgeous or ugly, they sound great. Another winner from Klipsch. You won't be able to do anything but smile when you hear this system pump out the audio goodness."
Official Xbox Magazine, May 2003

"The newest addition to Klipsch's lauded ProMedia line, the GMX D-5.1 speaker set was designed for gamers; folks serious about filling every corner of the room with ear-shattering sound."
Amy R. Wood, macHOME, May 2003

"Klipsch has once again delivered us the best sounding, coolest looking surround sound speakers available on the market today. Frontline with these bad boys hooked up, I've never played another video game without them."
Dan Schoonmaker, game-palace.net, June 2003

"This GMX D-5.1 is a sturdy offering for console gamers looking to blow out their eardrums. We tested the setup with a variety of Xbox and PS2 games and found that, generally speaking, the system pumped out more than enough solid power at various ranges to keep us pleased. The subwoofer is deceptively strong. And in case you need even more oomph, Klipsch includes something called an 'SWS Link' system, which allows you to add more subwoofers. We tested this GMX D-5.1 with up to three subs at once, at which point we had to stop in fear of literally shattering the television stand."
Ben Silverman, game-revolution.com, June 2003

"Without a doubt, this is one of the sexiest multimedia speaker systems I've ever laid eyes on. At first thought, it doesn't make sense that this level of style should be available at this modest price point; but then again, sex, like a bargain, sells."
Chris Chiarella, Home Theater, August 2003

"Each element of the ProMedia GMX D-5.1 works together to deliver bright, rich, and warm output that puts the emphasis on clarity right up to full power. Saxophone and guitar notes sing and stand out from the background, while spoken-word programming has a lifelike feel to it. Unbeatable price, exceptional audio, a genuinely cool design, and the option of an extra subwoofer make the ProMedia GMX D-5.1 set a great way to get superior sound out of your PC or game console."
Brian Nadel, TECH Edge, August 2003

"The GMX D-5.1 system gives sound enthusiasts a complete 5.1 surround system for a deep, atmospheric experience that will leave your ears overjoyed by the decibels that continuously pound them as hard as the action on the screen."
< Shockwave, TeamXbox.com, August 2003

"The sound emanating from our GMX 5.1 speakers was full and crisp, even at extreme volumes. In fact, the sound was so robust and clear it made the The Matrix movie remarkably immersive."
PC UPGRADE, September 2003

"The GMX D-5.1's kick some serious behind. This is easily the best looking, best sounding, and loudest surround sound speaker system that I have ever experienced. Unlike other powerful systems, the GMX D-5.1 sound quality isn't lost when playing sound at high volumes. Bottom line, the system rocks. It has received rave reviews and many awards from all sorts of tech media, and my feelings about the GMX D-5.1's are the same. Well done Klipsch."
