Marlon Moraes successfully defended his World Series of Fighting bantamweight title with vicious leg kicks on Feb. 20, stopping Joseph Barajas in only 73 seconds, and could be one fight away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Riding an impressive 11-fight winning streak with nine victories under the WSOF banner, Moraes’ next bout will be the last on his contract. One of the highest-paid fighters in the promotion, the Brazilian doesn’t think money could be an issue for a potential transfer to the UFC.

World Series of Fighting Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje has been suspended indefinitely for unsportsmanlike conduct. The suspension was handed out after Gaethje's first round TKO win over Brain Foster at WSOF 29.

After the fight, Gaethje celebrated in his usual fashion by climbing on top of the cage and backflipping off of it. The Colorado State Boxing Commission was not impressed with Gaethje's post fight conduct. Gaethje was warned before the fight to not backflip off of the cage, according to TheMMAReport.

Previously, the Colorado State Boxing Commission (CSBC) was upset with Gaethje for doing a backflip off the cage to celebrate his first round win over Foster. Its response was to suspend Gaethje indefinitely for unprofessional conduct.

There's good news for Gaethje, however, as CSBC director Josef Mason confirmed the suspension was lifted (via Sherdog.com) following a conversation with WSOF's lightweight champion. Mason wanted to make sure Gaethje understood the "concern by the commission for the safety of all around the cageside area" and feels after talking to Gaethje that he got the message.

A sibling rivalry will spill into the cage this summer, as adopted brothers Ben "Phoenix Jones" Fodor and Caros Fodor have agreed to fight at a 162-pound catchweight on June 30 in the co-main event of World Series of Fighting 32. Yahoo Sports first reported news of the booking on Tuesday.

A lot more than a simple name change took place when the promotion changed hands; there was also a change in philosophy. Instead of a roster of fighters competing for gold belts, the PFL will feature fighters in seven weight divisions competing in a season-style format. At the end of the season, the competitors with the best records advance to a single-elimination postseason playoff with the winners taking home a $1 million prize.

While the PFL season officially launches in 2018, the promotion is holding four events in 2017. The first of those fight cards takes place Friday and is headlined by a bout between former WSOF welterweight champion Jon Fitch and former WSOF lightweight title contender Brian Foster.
