Adopt-a-word . Durig the course you will use one word to explore various aspects of word meaning. Choose a word from the Academic word list. The word should be a noun ,a verb or an adjective. You will get the most out of thuis exercise if you choose a word that is (partially) new to you. Present yourfindings about the word in writing (1 to 2 pages are enough) as follows

VERB - word that shows action in a sentence.
The boys ran home. RAN is the verb.
NOUN - word that is the subject (a person, place or thing)
Who or what the sentence is about. After you read a sentence just say the word WHO or WHAT and the answer will be the noun.
The boys ran home. (WHO???) BOYS is the noun
ADJECTIVE - word that describes a noun. It give you more information about the subject.
The boys ran home. THERE IS NO ADJECTIVE IN THIS SENTENCE.
The little boys ran home. LITTLE would be the adjective because it describes the boys.
