"IPS-16 Family fast attack craft
Peyaap, Bavar, Zolaghar. For Gahjae see above.
Originally imported from North Korea, Iran has locally produced large numbers in several modified forms. The originalform is a low-observable torpedo boat but more recent versions are more conventional small missile craft, sometimes armed with both missiles and torpedoes.Specifications:Quantity in Service:Paykaap

tubes appears to have rudimentary stealthcharacteristics although little attention hasbeen paid to the IR spectrum, and the typehas poor stealth at high speeds due to thesurface piercing propellers. The slight bulgeon top of the torpedo tubes is probably thecompressed air cylinder used to eject thetorpedo from the tube, and its positionmakes it very possible that the torpedotubes are exactly the same as those on theTaedong-B. The torpedoes used are likely of North Korean design and are inadequate tosink, or even seriously damage, warships. For this reason most recent versions carry lightanti-ship missiles. The small size, high speed and somewhat low radar signature make this type a potent adversary, but it lacks anymeaningful self-defense weaponry should an enemy attempt to engage it. Its lightweight torpedoes are probablyinadequate to sink most warships."
