Hej allihopa!

First published in 1935 by John Steinbeck which turned out to be his first commercial success. John steinbeck was an American write who wrote several books, one of them is Of Mice and Men which you might have heard of. He have received a couple of prizes, two of them is the Pulitzer prize and the Noble prize for literature.
Plot Summary
The novel is about a couple of paisanos (countrymen) who are friends and just enjoys life and a lot of wine. They are poor drunken thieves who wants a little more of life than just friendship and wine, even though they always makes the best of the situation.
My interpretation of them as a people is that they do not complain much, they simply accept their faith and go along with it. The names of the people I am referring to is following: Danny(main character), Pilon, Pablo, Jesus Maria and Big Joe Portagee. They all decided to create a small group of patrioism. They did not participate in combat and they later returned to their hometown and everything was just as it use to be like.
Danny's grandfather died and left two whorehouses to Danny. Danny later decides to let Pilon be the first one who gets to rent a room. They never agreed on any form on rent, Danny never requested any money and Pilon never offered any. Eventually the whole group shows up and starts living with them. They get drunk one night and Pilons rented house burns down.
Danny shows no more anger than his first reaction and he allows the group to move in with him in his own house. Many make the comparission to the Knights of the Round Table because they sat around probably a round table and went out on quests, some of them weren't all that noble as you could imagine.
Later on a fellow named Pirate comes along and moves in with the group, he holds a large amount of money which becomes a center of attention within the group. In the course of a couple of months they tell a lot of stories involving women and false hope. Essentially their friendship was more worth than any woman or treasure.
It's a hard way of life and every man has his breaking point. Danny went crazy and went out stealing and vandalizing the town, he stole as much as he could in the course of a month. When he comes back he's pleased with all the fun he had and everything is just a it used to be.
Later when a huge party occurred Danny drank way to much and started fighting with everyone.
It resulted in the end of everything. The house were burn't down and a horrible but noble thing took place. It showed loyalty and courage. It was beautiful.
Reading Experience
My first reaction to the book was that it was very old fashioned. Not only was the book itself old but the words were sometimes very hard to understand. An example for that would be “- How knewest thou I had a bottle of brandy under my coat?”. I've used the internet for some research for the author and the language. One example for that would be “viejo” which means old man.
The story is really great, but it's hard reading. I sure enjoyed reading it but I wouldn't recommend it to you if you don't have the time to read every sentence at least twice. I like the Knights of the Round Table influence because it made the story more unreal than it was, because essentially it was just 5 poor drunken men in a whorehouse.
If you like humour that requires a little thinking you should definitely read it, even though it was sad at the ending it was a very beautiful and inspiring ending.

Eftersom jag inte vet var jag har gjort fel så hjälper inte detta mig.
