Särskilt mycket musik med konservativt budskap finns väl inte direkt. Det är mest enstaka slagdängor och ramsor. Den äkta konservativa musiken måste väl trots allt vara i stort sett all klassisk musik? Jag brukar framför allt lyssna på Hugo Alfvén, Willhelm Petersson-Berger och Wilhelm Stenhammar.

Vi talar här om musik som drömmer tillbaka till tider som varit, men det är lite problemtatiskt då konst till sin själva natur söker bryta mot det gamla för att uttrycka något nytt.
Men här kan man kombinera uttryckssätt som är helt nya, men som ändå söker uttrycka vördnad för det uråldriga, genom att egentligen översätta gammalt arv till en ny tid.
Jag tycker ju att metal på många sätt är då barockmusikens märkliga arvinge, som ofta även söker uttrycka det folkloriska med en ny energi som passar sin tid. Mitt enda problem med metal är att det är en slags extrem-maskulin uttryckssätt som reserverar den mest till unga män, alltså inte en bra mötesplats för kvinnor och män, vilket har varit ett viktigt syfte för musik förr i tiden.
Irländsk folkmusik lyssnar jag ofta på, i traditionell och modern tappning, och det tycker jag är slående bra konservativ musik: något som gamla och unga, kvinnor och barn, kan sjunga tillsammans i barer och liknande, som binder alla till mycket åldriga generationer och den långa floden som varit ett folks historia, som här:
