Uppföljaren skjuts upp till slutet av 2017 -

"James Cameron told the Associated Press this week that he has pushed back production on the “Avatar” sequels and the next chapter won’t hit theaters until Christmas, 2017. That’s a year later than had been planned".

Cameron’s words confirm what had been rumored for months — that the director had yet to deliver a shooting script to 20th Century Fox, delaying budgeting and production work on the vastly ambitious project. Part of the issue is that Cameron is shooting his planned trilogy simultaneously.

“We’re not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that,” Cameron told the Associated Press. “And parallel with that, we’re doing all the design. So we’ve designed all the creatures and the environments.”

Cameron also spoke to Variety for that article, providing some insight into what the future holds for the films.

“There’s nothing I need to say as an artist about the state of the world and human affairs that I can’t do through the lens of the ‘Avatar’ universe,” he said. “We’ve had a couple of years to think through the story arc of the next three films, and every day that goes by, I believe in the stories I’m telling more and more. We’re not coming out of the block fast to capitalize on the last film.”

Känns som att det mycket väl kan bli fyra filmer till, om nu uppföljarna blir kassakor vilket man kan anta. Rätt trist att inte få se Cameron göra något annat, kan alltid hoppas att uppföljarna blir mer intressanta än första filmen.

Varför försöker han banta ner det till tre?

Vi hade inte ens behövt den första filmen, en av senare årens absolut sämsta filmer.

Hellre den alla dagar i veckan än nåt bizzart skit med folk som förvandlas till flugor och grejer.

Avatar 2 Confirmed for Christmas 2017 Release

Revealing that each Avatar follow-up will be able to stand on their own autonomously, Cameron tells the Gazette regarding his intended Noel box-office drop:

“Christmas of ’17 is the target,” Cameron confirmed. “At least, that’s what we’ve announced. But I don’t consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart. I call it a meta-narrative that runs across the three movies. Each film stands alone, but it also tells one much larger story.”

Nevertheless, Avatar 2 will have to see what happens when the eggnog hits the fan when the film hits theaters on December 25, 2017!

Blir lite som LOTR som kom ut 3 vintrar i rad, kan bli intressant och följa detta spektakel.

Hela filmen Avatar förstördes med ett enda ord i filmen : unobtanium - då började jag garva - i övrigt håller filmen exakt samma manus som tex Pocahontas.

"vita" nybyggare fördriver "vildar" och kärlek uppstår .....det finns överhuvudtaget ingenting att bygga vidare på.

Tragiskt att den annars så begåvade Cameron slänger bort sin tid på detta.

Fy vad jag inte kommer att se dessa. Lär vara gaaaaaanska tråkiga.

De behöver lång tid på sig att fastställa 2:an. Räkna med December 2017. Då hinner man ha glömt första filmen.

Vad är det som tar tid?

Du vet inte vem James Cameron är eller?

Han är sjukt noga med allt, för jävla petig, därför tar det tid. Allt ska vara perfekt.

Så drar han in pengar också, och mycket mer.

Hela filmen är ju trötta stereotyper, pocahontas i rymden.
Dock var den ju snyggt gjort antar jag, alltid något.
