As previously explained, ZNPP is perfectly safe. Nothing Ukraine can do will cause a radiological disaster in Energodar.
Can Ukraine fake such a thing, however? Fortunately the answer is also no. But first, let's address the "why" of this narrative and why it's being spooled up.
Ukraine's strategy from nearly day 1 has always been two narratives. First, "we will hold here, build an army, and then counterattack".
Second, "NATO will intervene and save us."
Well, narrative one has run its course and is now dying out. Ukraine held out in Mariupol and counterattacked lost, held out in Severodonetsk and counterattacked lost, held out in Lisichansk and counterattacked lost, and in Artemovsk counterattacked lost, and Schroedinger's Offensive is now, ahem, "Counterattacking".
So now it comes down to narrative two. "NATO will step in and save us."
Can Ukraine detonate a "dirty bomb" or otherwise trigger a radiological incident at ZNPP?
Yes, they certainly can - but such an event cannot be confused for anything but a false flag operation.
Nuclear bombs have a distinct double-flash phenomenon and the fuel stored at ZNPP has a distinct spectral signature. Neither of these can be faked.
If Ukraine tries to "fake" a nuclear detonation or a radiological incident at the ZNPP, it will be clear to the entire world immediately that it is a fake.
Maybe they hope the US/W. Europe will play along with the story? Okey - what happens when China, India, Brazil, and others don't play along?
Writing's on the wall, and no narrative will save it. Everyone but Zelensky and a few US politicians understand this now.
So if anxious, calm your horses. Narrative is all they have left.
