I really really anticipated yesterdays dinner @airasthlm since i’m a fan of @tommymyllymaki ’s style and philosophy of modern cooking.
From what i know, i feel that the tasting meny at 1* Stockholm Restaurant Aira pretty much reflects that philosophy.
As the first couple of the evening, we vere welcomed in a truly lovely way by all of the house staff, including the young chefs. And the front of house team were just as personal and professional as you want them to be.
I sometimes really like how a hostess can burst out in genuine laughter during an impeccable service.
The atmosphere, the furnishing and the details in the dining area are just amazing, so is the view outside the very large windows.
And the food - very comforting on a very very high level, a few of the servings were surprisingly simple, humble and elegant in flavour and structure, still with a subtile asian input in almost every dish.
And as a simple, humble and elegant chef, i really appreciate that style of the nordic cuisine.
Again - the non alcoholic beverage pairing shook me all up and left me surprised of the innovationskills and crafmanship on how they are produced in house.
Damn i enjoy beeing sober!
Aira hosts of the most high priced dinner experiences in Sweden, and of course one of the very best.
