A lot of things in the world don’t have opposites.
What’s the opposite of square? Is it round or triangular? Or something else?
What’s the opposite of fork? A knife? How about a spoon? Or even a spork?
What’s the opposite of a criminal? A law-abiding person? Or a non-criminal? What exactly is a non-criminal?
Some things in life have generally accepted ‘opposites’ because of history or social development or physical reality. Child vs. adult, hot vs. cold, and that sort of thing. But there are many, many more things without opposites.
Why do you write in English? It seems to be true some things don't have opposites... But the opposite of a criminal is in fact law-abiding citizen. Maybe not the full opposite of the absolute aspect of the criminal as an individual, but when it comes to a person holding the quality of being a criminal.
When it comes to the opposite of a square it is something that is not a square but that isn't enough... It has to hold the absolute opposite qualities, or being the absence of a square. Is there such a thing?
